Careers and Personality Match
We can all pretend that certain personalities go in certain places, but it simply isn’t very true. I would take that advice with a grain of salt, rock salt. I could stereotype by saying that all doctors are outgoing should be outdoing and that all people that are obsessive compulsive should be pharmacists.
Workplace Diversity
Workplaces are diverse and have different personalities. To make up a good team, you don’t want all the same personality. That will only crate conflict. You need follower, leaders, peacemakers, and people that are thoughtful. What you really want is a boss that will fit with you personality. Bosses tend to hire people that are like themselves. It is a human weakness to do so. Thus, if you like your boss than you will probably like the coworkers, as well.
Focus on Skills – Not Personality
What you should focus on, instead, are skills that you have. These are inherent skills that you can’t buy with a diploma are get from studying a book. There are the skills that make you what you are.
You can find out your skills by asking yourself what you like to do. Do you like to find something? Maybe you have the skill of precision. That skill is good for accounting. Or, maybe you like to talk on the phone with friends. This skill may be good for a job in networking or sales.
