Career Choices and Faqs
Q. Why don’t most people plan their careers?
A. It’s so complex that many people don’t know where to start and others are simply looking for a high paycheck. The truth is that career planning is vital to your success.
Q. What are the Best Careers?
A. To me, a good career is one that makes you happy. Reports consistently show teachers, financial planners, and math based careers (like computer science) at the top of the list. The lowest satisfaction is found among people that do manual labor.
Q. How do you find a good company to work for?
A. Employee referrals are one of the best ways to know whether to work somewhere or not. It is a bad idea to just pick a company at random and hope it works out. There is too much time invested for this to be practical. In many large companies, almost everyone says the work environment is great and vice versa, at others.
Q. Does the school that I went to really matter?
A. Large well established companies take their pick from Ivy Leagues. The school you went to makes a big difference in employment prospects.
